The zoo of the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern started  with 14 animals from the region. Today it shows mostly non European animals and has among others a small local tropical house

After we have payed the entrance fee we go arround the bulding and head straight forward to look at the Ostrich. Across we find a small terrarium and near to it the African Savannah. Accross we find the African wild dog and then the Babrbary sheep. Going to the right we se the White Rhinos that are charing theire enclosure with Goats. Back at the crossing we follow the Amur Tigers, accross are the Dhole. Next to it is an enclosure for brown bears, they chare theire home with wolves. Then looking at otters and at the racoon turning left going towards the eagle owl. The next enclosure we can enter, its the home for fallow deer and moufflon. Outside again we turn left and soon find Roe deer and wild boar. Following the road and after a while turning left we see the Meerkat. In the yard of the inn "Bauernschänke" is a small house for mice. The its time to look at the lions and in front we find the prairie dog running freely in the zoo. Turning right we find rabbits and after a while we right to se the Humboldt's penguins. Following the large lake we see flamingos and ducks. Turning right at the prairie dog lawn we find the Lehmanns farm with domestic animals like the pikg. Next to it is the budgerigar. Now we stand in front of the tropical house for sloths, giant ant eaters and macaws among others. Across is a house for tapirs, capybaras and Darwin's rhea. At the ringtailed lemurs we turn left to se small monkeys, abdim's stork and  the Australian king parrot. Turning back to the the ring-tailed lemurs and turning left at the riding space we soon seet the frog house with German amphibians. Passing the coatis, we are having on the left hand the Marabou stork and on the right gibbons. Passing porcupines and pelicans we find the last encloures, home for Australian animals like the emu and the tammar wallaby.
